They are copied after 18th century examples and the style is documented in George Neumanns book, Early American Antique Country Furnishings. The large lid measures 8 3 4 in diameter and nestles perfectly in our CP 736 5 Quart Cast Iron Pot. Made in USA Item # LD 736
